At the RAeS President’s Summit 2023, “Future of the Skies,” experts will gather to discuss the potential of advanced air mobility technologies for future air travel.

The Royal Aeronautical Society’s (RAeS) annual flagship event, the President’s Conference, focuses on a central topic in the aerospace industry and is selected by the Society’s president each year. The 2023 conference, led by RAeS president Kerissa Khan MRAeS in the 2023–24 academic year, will focus on the theme of “Future of the Road” and examine how advanced mobility technologies in the air have the potential to revolutionize urban, rural, and regional transportation.

Resumen
At this summit, we will welcome a wide variety of high-level decision-makers in the transportation ecosystem, such as aircraft manufacturers, supply chain companies, investors, regulators, government representatives, and local authorities, who will assess the development of flight technologies ranging from lipid fuel cells to autonomous flight. The discussion panels will predict real-world business models for AAM operations and debate the dependability, efficiency, and applicability of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft designs.

The discussions will mirror the main community concerns about how the revolutionary aerospace engineering is implemented on a commercial scale, including the development of infrastructure and vertical-takeoff terminals.

The focus of Day 2 will be on regional and long-distance sustainable aviation, while Day 1 will be devoted primarily to vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) operations in urban and rural settings. The agenda strikes a balance between the aviation industry’s most pressing areas of innovation, such as the development of hybrid electric propulsion and lighter-than-air vehicles, and the immediate implementation of sustainable aviation fuels within the current aviation industry.

Why Should I Go?
The Air Mobility Conference (Future of Flight Conference) is a one-of-a-kind chance to network with the entire ecosystem of stakeholders in advanced air mobility (OEMs, supply chain, regulators, investors, government agencies, etc.) and participate in the discussion of revolutionary engineering for future air travel in the heart of London.

Who needs to be there?
Anyone, RAeS member or not, is welcome to join us for this annual gathering. Attendance is strictly limited to in-person visits to No.4 Hamilton Place, London, the RAeS’s headquarters. Delegate fees include the cost of attending the conference as well as snacks and lunch.
